Yule at Hviding Farm in the year 980. The influential families of the area are invited to a Yule feast at Hviding Farm. The Christmas ale is to be put to the test. Will the guests notice that it was not brewed with the housewife’s own yeast ring? Will Hviding Farm lose esteem? Or will others?
About the series
The film series FADEBURET (the larder) has been created by Ribe VikingeCenter with support from the Region of Southern Denmark and the Wadden Sea Cultural Region.
The films were shot at Ribe VikingeCenter and by the Wadden Sea. Ribe VikingeCenter has reconstructed a typical farmstead from the year 980, which was excavated at Gammel Hviding about 10 km south-west of Ribe. Visit Hvidinggården at Ribe VikingeCenter and meet some of the characters from the series.

The Viking farm at Ribe VikingeCenter is a reconstruction of the farm excavated by archaeologists at Gammel Hviding between 1986 and 1994. You can explore the buildings, the cabbage garden, and meet several of the animals that were important to the Vikings.
