If you would like to support our work, a donation of DKK 200 can make a real difference. Your contribution helps us continue to develop the Viking settings and activities in Ripa, so that we can keep bringing the Viking Age to life for visitors of all ages.

How to donate

  • Go to our webshop.

  • Scroll down and find Donation.

  • If you have a Danish CPR number and live in Denmark (read below), you can add your CPR number by clicking +Add CPR number.
  • Then click DONATE and CONTINUE.
  • Enter your name and email address. Remember to accept the terms and conditions, then click CONTINUE.
  • Complete your payment.

How your donation helps

Your donation of DKK 200 supports us in two important ways:

  • Your donation goes directly towards preserving and constructing buildings, developing visitor experiences and activities, and our daily work of bringing our cultural heritage to life.

  • If we receive at least 100 donations of DKK 200 each year, we may qualify for the Danish government's VAT compensation scheme for charitable organisations. As a cultural institution, we are normally unable to reclaim VAT on a large proportion of our activities. Your donation can therefore help Ribe VikingeCenter receive significant VAT compensation.

Claim tax relief on your donation

If you have a Danish CPR number and live in Denmark, donations of at least DKK 200 are eligible for tax relief. This means that the amount you donate can be deducted from your taxable income.

Please remember to provide your CPR number when making your donation to Ribe VikingeCenter. For businesses, please provide your CVR number. We will report your donation to the Danish Tax Agency (Skat), after which it will automatically appear on your tax return.

How we handle your CPR number

By providing your CPR number, you consent to us sharing it with the Danish Tax Agency (Skat) so that you can receive tax relief on your donation under Section 8A of the Danish Tax Assessment Act (Ligningsloven).

We use your CPR number solely for this purpose and store it securely and confidentially in accordance with data protection legislation until your donation has been reported and the information checked. We will then delete your CPR number from our system.
