The marketplace rings with the sound of hammers, laughter and lively trading at the tents and workshops. Strike your own replica of the coin that was used in Ripa between around 720 and 800 AD, then gather for the marketplace entertainment as the next story unfolds.Watch skilled craftspeople at work and have a go yourself at the shaving horse in Ripa Town. See if the shoemaker is home, take a seat for a moment in the Thing-hall and admire the beautiful wall paintings that tell the story of Ripa. Visit the sacrificial site, soak up the special atmosphere around the sacred bog, and be amazed by the explosion of colour inside Ansgar Church from AD 860.
Say hello to the farm animals, wander through the flourishing kitchen gardens and visit the impressive longhouse, where the hens are clucking and the farm cat may have just caught a mouse in the barn. Follow the winding path past the barn towards the Ring Fortress, cross the bridges over the stream where the water nymphs dance, and prepare to be amazed when you stand before the mighty fortress gate. Climb the tower for a sweeping view, test your skills with Viking warrior challenges, try your hand at archery, peek inside the warriors' house and let your imagination run free...
