The blacksmith
The blacksmith
The blacksmith was one of the most important craftsmen of the Viking Age. It was hot, dirty, and heavy work with endless orders for knives, axes, scissors, nails, fittings, locks, fire steels, cauldrons, and many other indispensable items for the home, farming, boatbuilding, and warfare.
In this film the blacksmith shows how he makes decorative rosettes for the oil lamps in the Ansgar Church
