About the series
The film series VIKINGS BY THE WADDEN SEA has been created by Ribe VikingeCenter with support from the Region of Southern Denmark.
The films were shot at Ribe VikingeCenter and along the Wadden Sea coast. At Ribe VikingeCenter you can explore several Viking Age settings, visit the buildings, watch different crafts in action and have a chat with the Vikings.
The Vikings’ marketplace
The traces of the Viking Age marketplace lie hidden in the cultural layers beneath Sct. Nicolaj Gade in Ribe. It was here that the town of Ripa arose around 700 AD. At Ribe VikingeCenter you can experience a reconstructed part of the marketplace, walk along the plank road, and visit the working workshops. Read more here:
