Aage is a free man in Viking Age society, yet his fate is harsh. After losing his wife and daughter in a tragic manner, he left his home in the marshes and found work on the pier construction in Ripa.
About the series
The film series VIKINGS BY THE WADDEN SEA has been created by Ribe VikingeCenter with support from the Region of Southern Denmark.
The films were shot at Ribe VikingeCenter and along the Wadden Sea coast. At Ribe VikingeCenter you can explore several Viking Age settings, visit the buildings, watch different crafts in action and have a chat with the Vikings.
Craftsmen in Ripa
Ribe VikingeCenter has reconstructed townhouses, alleyways, and created the environment we call Ripa Town in 825 AD. One of the houses is a woodworking workshop where a character such as the craftsman Aage could have spent his days. Several traces of craft activities have been found in the cultural layers of Ribe.
